Welcome to JBVC Café, a unique gem tucked inside a community center in Markham, Ontario. Formerly known as the Cultural Café, this charming spot is much more than just a concession stand. It’s a beloved café known for its heartwarming atmosphere and the signature taste of Hong Kong. Run by an inspiring team of visually impaired individuals, JBVC Café reflects a spirit of community and inclusivity that resonates with every visitor.

Step inside, and you’ll immediately feel the welcoming vibe that flows through the café. It’s an inviting space where you can enjoy your meal while watching volleyball or other activities in the gym nearby. The comfortable seating provides the perfect backdrop for relaxation, whether you're grabbing a quick bite or enjoying a leisurely afternoon with friends.

At JBVC Café, the menu may be limited due to current circumstances, but the quality remains unrivaled. Don’t miss their Curry Meatballs "Lo Mein" Noodles, a delightful dish that beautifully marries spices with noodles for a comforting meal. Pair it with their HK Style Egg Waffle, which is light, fluffy, and a delightful treat on its own. If you’re looking for a complete experience, the Combo C is an excellent choice, featuring both signature dishes along with a refreshing drink, all for just CA$13.99.

The real star here, however, is the HK Style Milk Tea, crafted with passion and awarded for its quality. Customers rave about its silky smooth texture and robust taste—many claim it to be the best in town! Imagine sipping this delightful beverage while indulging in the wonderful flavors of your meal. Just as customer Kyle Chan noted, the café even incorporates milk tea into their ice, elevating the experience even further.

Don’t forget to try the Bo Lo Yau (pineapple bun), praised by Lesley W for its warm, soft texture and delicious crunchy top. When you taste it, you'll understand why returning customers like Wilbur Lo make it a habit to stop by for these sweets and that delightful milk tea. The strong sense of community support here is palpable, as shared by Stanley C, who encourages everyone to discover the joys of this cafe. It’s not just a place to eat; it’s a mission-driven establishment where every bite contributes to a greater cause.

In summary, JBVC Café is an extraordinary spot that offers more than just food. With its award-winning milk tea, tasty Hong Kong snacks, and a heartwarming story behind its operation, every visit promises a unique experience. Whether you’re looking for a quick indulgence or a cozy place to unwind, this café stands out as a must-visit destination for both food lovers and community supporters alike.

I’m blown away by how good the hk style milk tea is considering that this is a concession stand attached to a community center. They even used milk tea to make the ice!

A cafe that offers a very limited menu due the impact of COVID-19. However, the quality of the food is not compromised. The cafe previously competed in the HK Milk Tea King competitions locally in Toronto and one year in Hong Kong after winning the Toronto competition. It is one of the better milk teas in town that is reasonably priced. What's important to note is that this cafe is run by visually impaired persons (VIP) with assistance from volunteers. It is a worthwhile cause. Opened with limited hours presently. Thurs and Fridays from 1 to 5pm. Because it is located inside the 105 Gibson Center (a community centre), you will need to go through screening and vaccine passport validation to get to the cafe. Ask the volunteers where you can find the booth if it is your first visit to the 105 Gibson Centre!

Love this Christian run cafe. It provides food/snack before or after exercises/sports in the centre. You can sit comfortably and watch people playing volleyball in the gym. Everybody should support this cafe! The only problem is that there is no sign in the front entrance and it’s a bit hard to find.

That bo lo yau (pineapple bun with butter) was amazing! Served warm—soft, fluffy, and that cookie-like crunchy top was delicious. I just wish the slice of butter had been thicker The award-winning milk tea was a hit! Silky smooth with a strong tea flavour—probably the best in town. Sadly, the noodles with curry fish balls were a miss :( Way overcooked and bland. The fish balls weren’t firm at all.
